Spoilers Series 2
Quite a few people wanted my thoughts on the matter of Sherlock’s maybe botched, but probably faked suicide. I am happy to oblige (with pictures! Pictures!)
I think most people got as far as Molly. Sherlock goes to her and needs her help, and it’s probably not with losing his virginity. Molly works at a morgue, and handles dead bodies regularly. Sherlock, in need of a faked death, would go to her.
I think everyone got as far as corpse-switching, which we’ve seen several times already this series. The rest is a little hazier, which is probably on purpose. I’m pretty sure they wanted to leave their options open for next series, depending on what they decide. Of course, some options are more logical than others.
In general, it’s a magic trick, pulled off with angles, misdirects, and maybe a few accomplices. Sherlock even mentions magic tricks to John. If Sherlock’s whole life is an illusion, this is the prestige, for lack of a better word.*
Very good. None of these things occurred to me. I suck at deducing.
